European Olympic Committee (EOC) awarded Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) with the EOC Olympic Laurel Award. HUSS is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The university, founded in 1925 under the name of College of Physical Education (TF), received the prestigious recognition at the EOC General Assembly held in Frankfurt on Saturday, 1st March. The university’s Rector Professor Tamás Sterbenz, accepted the award from the organization’s Greek president, Spyros Capralos.

On Friday, the Athens hall hosted the winter graduation ceremony held in the institution’s centenary year, during which 135 students received therir degrees.

HUSS becomes the 7th World Leisure Center of Excellence joining the prestigious network committed to advancing education and research in such fields as recreation, sports, festivals, health and wellness —all with a global perspective.

A high-level governmental and sports diplomacy meeting was organised at the headquarters of the Hungarian Olympic Committee with the participation of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) led by Chinese Sports Minister Gao Zhidan, President of the Chinese Olympic Committee.
